At Elkins we are committed to addressing the gender imbalance in the industry and creating more opportunities for women in construction, so we’re delighted to have recently welcomed Stacey Trotman to the team as our new Site Manager.
We spoke to Stacey to find out more about her experience, why she wanted to come and work with us, her sausage dog Percy and her tipple of choice!
What’s your job title?
What does your job involve?
My job involves managing the internal programme (kitchens and bathrooms) of our refurbishment works at Kingswood Estate for Southwark Council.
What’s your background?
Prior to joining Elkins, I worked as a Site Manager for Westminster Council. I managed a Matilda’s Blanket internal wall insulation and storage heater solution to improve the energy efficiency in properties in the borough.
What are you most looking forward to in your job?
I’m looking forward to working as part of a large team and being able to focus on one site and oversee all the progress, rather than focusing on just one aspect of different properties, as in my previous role.
I had previously worked with Michael Bailey, Elkins’ Senior Contracts Manager, and this was a sign that it was a good company to work for. Elkins also has a great reputation – I have heard many good things about the business so I couldn’t wait to start!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy staying active. I play netball three times a week and also go on lots of long walks with my sausage dog Percy.
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Funny, happy and approachable.
We’re off to the pub – what’s your order?
A double vodka and orange and a rose tequila.
