Elkins is a leading new-build, refurbishment, planned maintenance and roofing construction company. Family-owned since 1963, we work for private and public sector clients in London and the south east, delivering high quality traditional and modular construction projects for commercial organisations, local authorities, housing associations, schools and hospitals.

Quality, value and fairness

Elkins has developed its reputation for quality, value and fairness over six decades and two generations of family ownership. It is a reputation we’re extremely proud of. Originally established in 1963 as a roofing contractor by brothers Arthur and Edward, the company has grown to become a large, successful family-owned business. Today, Arthur’s children, Ray and Glenis, run the company with the same strong family ethos that their father and uncle did. One of Ray’s passions is to invest in local communities and this forms a key part of every bid we submit, with local communities providing over 60 per cent of our workforce and supply chain.

It’s our people that make Elkins a success. Many of our team have been with us for 10, 15 and 20 years but we also recruit the brightest young talent we can.

A sense of community

We take pride in creating opportunities in the communities in which we work, providing sponsorship, and taking the lead in developing community projects to help improve local environments and providing apprenticeship placements for local people.

We operate in one of the most dangerous industries in the UK, so we take our responsibility to protect our people very seriously. That’s why we have our own in-house team of certified health and safety professionals.
